Being Ready, Together

The governor and other high ranking state officials attended the meeting Tuesday along with police officers and sheriff's deputies.

The need for better communication between law enforcement was stressed, as well as the importance of public involvement.

"We're really relying on the public's help in identifying suspicious activity around airports, bus terminals, railroads and such," said Dean Harper, who represented the Meridian Police Department.

"The big thing that happened was having all those state officials in one room with the same idea of helping local agencies help themselves," said Sheriff Billy Sollie.

The public is asked to report any suspicious activities to local law enforcement agency.
