Foreclosure Notices Spike in Mississippi
Jackson, Miss. Although the pace of the foreclosure crisis is slowing down in the United States, 41 percent more Mississippi households received some sort of a foreclosure-related notice last month, compared to February 2009.

Although the pace of the foreclosure crisis is slowing down in the United States, 41 percent more Mississippi households received some sort of a foreclosure-related notice last month, compared to February 2009.
RealtyTrac, which tracks foreclosures nationwide, said 416 Mississippi homeowners received such a notice last month.
Nationwide, RealtyTrac said last month's figure was up only 6 percent, the smallest annual increase in four years.
One in every 3,046 Mississippi homeowners was hit by a notice last month.
Those notices range from an initial warning of default to the outright sale of a confiscated property.
Mississippi ranked 40th in foreclosure notices.
