Volunteers were out all day Saturday in Meridian working to grant some deserving wishes.
Local volunteers with the Meridian Chapter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation gathered as much as they could for the make a wish garage sale. The funds raised will help to grant wishes that the local chapter is supporting. Brenda Golisch is a volunteer with Meridian's Chapter of the Make-A-Wish-Foundation. She explains how they are helping out this area.
"We currently have about six wishes going on at this time. Now, we work with our state, so there's a lot more in the state, but that's just in our area here which is like Quitman, Philadelphia, Meridian, Enterprise, Stonewall. It's just our surrounding area that we try to grant the wishes for."
Wishes are granted to children with life threatening diseases or medical conditions between the ages of two and eighteen.
