A federal judge has blocked Mississippi from enforcing a new law that bars late term abortions in abortion clinics.
Judge Tom Lee made the decision on Friday. Jackson's Women Health Organization sued to have the law declared unconstitutional.
The new law barred abortion clinics from conducting abortions starting at 13 weeks.
The state contended the law was enacted to move the late term abortions for better equipped facilities. The courts disagreed.
