Local DNC delegate Melba Clark left the Queen City early Sunday morning on a flight due to arrive in Boston, the host city of the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

"I'm just so excited about going and this opportunity," said Clark.

Clark is the delegate representing the 3rd Congressional District of Mississippi, she says security will be tight in Boston, especially around the Fleet Center, the actual site of the convention.

"They've already sent us letters telling us what things we can and cannot bring in the arena," said Clark.

Newscenter 11 will be checking in with Clark throughout the week for a firsthand perspective as to what is going on at the convention.
