The Meridian Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that happened Thursday night.
One was around 6:00 p.m. at a home located on 25th Avenue. When police responded, they found a female who had been shot once in the chest. The woman's husband later turned himself in to police. No charge was immediately filed.
In another incident around 10:00 p.m. Thursday, Meridian police responded to the 2600 block of 9th Street. A man was shot in the back and leg by two masked men.
The shooting occurred in front of the victim's home and the suspects fled on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
The case is still under investigation and no other information was being released at this time.
