MCC Recruits Students

People were not only shopping at Bonita Lakes Mall Saturday, but learning about higher educational opportunities as part of MCC and MSU-Meridian's Mall Day.

"We want to make sure we have contact with a lot of people," said Tommy Daniel with Meridian Community College.

Each year for the past several years both schools have taken part in the event before the start of the fall semester. It is an opportunity to learn more about career programs, financial aid programs and scholarships and more.

"We have programs for everyone, so we just let them know and how to get ready for the semester," Jennifer Beaugec, Miss. State University-Meridian Campus.

"It’s a good place to meet lots of people, our goal is to make it available to our citizens. We have a lot of people that come by and don't know what's available to them,"
