Two people have been arrested in the shooting death of a Shuqualak woman in Neshoba County.
Rachel B. Cumberland, 35, and John Robert Williams, 28, both of Carthage, were charged with kidnapping and capital murder in the death of 29-year-old Nikki Hill of Shuqualak.
"We have recovered what we believe to be the murder weapon, which has been turned in for processing," said Neshoba County Sheriff Larry Myers.
Cumberland was arrested last week. Myers said Williams was apprehended around 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Rankin County, with the assistance of the Rankin County Sheriff's Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
"We developed information regarding Mr. Williams' whereabouts and the vehicle he was driving. We located him in that vehicle, followed him and when he stopped we took Mr. Williams into custody without incident," said MBI Director, Lt. Col. Mike Berthay.
Williams was arrested when he stopped the dump truck he was driving at a gravel pit off Pearson Road south of Pearl.
Hill was found dead July 18, 2004 on County Road 2602. She had been shot twice.
