By the time headliner Molly Hatchet performed, the crowd at Bonita Lakes Park had already been treated to three concerts on the Jagermeister stage as well as a quick performance by Bo Bice, who was not on the announced lineup for Rock at the Lake.
"Hartley Peavey has been wonderful to me and I like to come out and visit with them," Bice said. "And they invited me out to this party. My buddies from Molly Hatchet -- who've been nice enough to let us use their bus so we can sit here and talk -- they might have me up there to sing a little song."
The members of Molly Hatchet were equally complimentary of what Peavey Electronics has done to put on this concert.
"We have been wanting to come back and do concerts in this area for so long," said guitarist Bobby Ingram. "For us to be invited to Meridian and come here for Peavey Electronics. Everybody has been so kind to us for many, many, many decades. We can't thank everybody enough."
Even before their concert, which saw the largest crowd, Ingram was pleased to see the amount of people in the park.
"We've got a packed house tonight," Ingram said. "Everybody's having a lot of fun. We've got a lot of music. We've got a lot of Southern Rock and Roll. We've got a lot of good, good tradition happening here."
One of the most interesting things about the concert is where the artists were performing. The Jagermeister stage is a completely self contained mobile stage that is outfitted with Peavey sound equipment, something which Hartley Peavey says is good to help get Meridian even more outside exposure.
"They set this thing up literally all over the country," said Peavey owner Hartley Peavey. "This is one of the ways we can expose our brand to bands and players of all kind and people who love music."
The Jagermeister stage is on the road hundreds of days a year, displaying the Peavey brand everywhere it goes. Its next stop will be outside the RCA Dome on Thursday for the Indianapolis Colts football game against the Saints.
