State troopers gave out 30 percent more citations over Labor Day weekend this year than last year, and officials credited the increased enforcement with saving lives.
One person died on the state's highways between Friday evening and Monday night. That's down from five casualties last year.
Officials say troopers used a "low tolerance, high visibility" approach to lower the number of accidents and fatalities.
