Meridian Resident Represents Disabled
A LOCAL YOUNG WOMEN IS ON A NATIONAL MISSION.
NIKKI REESE, 28, OF MERIDIAN WAS RECENTLY NAMED MS. WHEELCHAIR MISSISSIPPI.
NEXT MONTH REESE WILL COMPETE AGAINST OTHER CONTESTANTS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY FOR THE NATIONAL CROWN.
WITH THIS OPPORTUNITY, REESE SAID SHE HOPES TO HELP THE PUBLIC BETTER UNDERSTAND THE PLIGHT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED.
"You can't say please understand what I'm going through and then don't say anything," said Reese. "You have to go out there and present yourself."
AT THIS TIME NIKKI DOES NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL CORPORATE SPONSOR, BUT DOES HAVE BACKING IN THE MERIDIAN AREA.
"For her to represent our city and our state is great," sais Ed Lynch, owner of The Art Connection in Meridian. "We're constantly trying to promote Meridian in other endeavors and this is a great opportunity."
AS PART OF A FUNDRAISING EFFORT, A SPECIAL "SIP AND CHAT" FUNDRAISER WILL BE HELD THURSDAY, JUNE 13, FROM 6:00 PM UNTIL 8:00PM AT ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH.
