Religious and civic leaders are encouraging citizens to come to an information session this weekend about the Affordable Care Act. It starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Anderson Hospital cafeteria.
The event is sponsored by state Rep. Charles Young, Jr., and state Sen. Sampson Jackson.
People will be able to enroll in the health care plan if they choose.
"This is a time that people can take advantage of programs that are available," said the Rev. Gary Houston. "If they make under a certain amount of income, there are benefits that can help them. We just want to make sure that our people have the opportunity to get the best affordable health care they can and so they can know what their options are. We don't want anybody to be left out."
People from east Mississippi and west Alabama are invited to attend.
