Anderson Honored for Supporting Women's Rights, Equality

Choctaw, Miss. Choctaw Tribal Chief Phyliss J. Anderson has been honored for her commitment to women's rights and equality.

Anderson is one of three distinguished female native leaders to be honored during a ceremony at the United South and Eastern Tribes semi-annual meeting in Bar Harbor, Maine. Chief Anderson is also credited with supporting the Violence Against Women Act.

She says it is an honor to be recognized.
