Meridian, Miss. Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center hosted an open house for its Maternal Newborn Education and Lactation Center.
The center promotes breastfeeding awareness and educates and supports mothers about the process.
Outpatient services for newborns are provided at the center, if needed.
Classes on childbirth, infant CPR, and sibling classes are also offered.
"As a new mom, a lot of times there are questions that you think you are the only person that has that question; you don't," said Reba Lee, a registered nurse. "We want to make you as comfortable as possible. We're hoping to offer that service to the community."
The center is located on the Anderson north campus, next to the birth center. For information, call 601-553-6123.
