Lauderdale County supervisors have unanimously approved a measure that seeks funds for an ankle bracelet initiative. Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says the department recently found out that the grant was available. The actual deadline to apply for it was Monday, August 5th. However, Lauderdale County has been approved for an extension until 5 PM Wednesday. If approved, the federal grant will continue to provide ankle bracelets for some youthful offenders within Lauderdale County.
