Another Successful WTOK Toython

By  |

Meridian, Miss. Many of you braved the cold weather on Saturday to contribute to our annual WTOK Toython.

We collected countless toys for kids of all ages this weekend. This year, we not only collected toys at the Bonita Walmart in Meridian, but also the Walmart on Highway 19 North.

The toys will be divided up between the Wesley House, Care Lodge, Hope Village, Cans for Kids, and Salvation Army. The agencies receiving the toys just can't say thank you enough.

"This Toython is going to help us," according to Major Walter Strong with the Salvation Army. "We have over a thousand children for Christmas. It's going to help us to compliment and finish out their Christmas. To provide Christmas for children who would otherwise not have much of one."

Toython ended at 7 p.m. on Saturday. WTOK-TV would like to thank Peavey Electronics and Waters International for supplying trucks to help with this year's Toython.
