The National Weather Service is predicting an accumulation of snow and sleet across portions of southeast Mississippi and central Alabama Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

Forecasters also say there will be dangerous wind chill readings over southeast Arkansas and north central Mississippi Monday night into Tuesday. Wind chill readings will be in the single digits

South Mississippi will be impacted by a weather disturbance approaching from the west. Snow and sleet mixed with freezing rain are expected to develop over southern portions of Mississippi Tuesday morning and last into Tuesday evening.

Forecasters said present indications are that a few inches of snow and sleet could accumulate resulting in dangerous travel conditions along and south of the U.S. Highway 84 corridor, which runs across the state from Natchez to the Alabama line.
