Area Rivers Remain Above Flood Stage

The Chickasawhay River at Enterprise remained about 2.5 feet above flood stage Wednesday. It's expected to rise another few inches by Friday when it's expected to crest.

There are also continuing flooding issues in Neshoba County. The Pearl River at Philadelphia was well above its banks Wednesday, the third day in a row.

The National Weather Service says the river level is two feet above flood stage and is likely to rise a few more inches before cresting sometime Thursday morning. It
will remain above flood level until sometime next week.

Another river that's over its banks is the Tombigbee
at Coffeeville Dam in Choctaw County. It was about 10 feet above flood stage Wednesday and not likely to drop before next week.
