Butler Police Chief Jimmy Huckabee says he made an arrest of a 13-year-old male Friday morning in connection with the breaking of a window on a Choctaw County school bus Thursday afternoon.

The window was shattered as the bus was traveling down a road. At the time, it appeared to have been hit by a pellet or other small size caliber. However,
Police Chief Jimmy Huckabee said Friday no firearm was involved.

Huckabee said that he was able to determine the path of the object, which led him to the person responsible.

Huckabee said a child was playing with a slingshot in his yard, shooting at birds. The chief says the bus was not the intended target but a pellet hit the bus window with enough force to break it.

The 13-year-old is charged with reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor, and the case will be handled in youth court.
