Bar Shooting Prompts Efforts to Close Business

Vicksburg, Mississippi Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says he's ready to start the legal effort to shut down a bar where a man was gunned down.

The man killed in the early Friday shooting was identified as 27-year-old Willie Swartz of the Vicksburg area.

Three people have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting, which happened in the gravel parking lot in front of a lounge on Warren County's Lee Road.

Pace told The Vicksburg Post he plans to meet with the district attorney Monday in hopes of getting a court order to close the Starlight Lounge.

Pace said deputies have been called to the bar 21 times since January 2012 for disturbances that include shots fired and fights.
