Meridian's mayor has scheduled a news conference about crime prevention.
It will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the third floor auditorium at Meridian City Hall.
According to a statement from Mayor Cheri Barry's office, the news conference will include discussion of recent developments, operations and initiatives of the Meridian Police Department regarding recent crime.
