Benefit Planned for Local Cancer Patient

A local church is reaching out to the entire community to help one of its members suffering from a rare cancer.

Evangel Temple is holding a worship service and benefit program for Claudia Dillard. Dillard was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma cancer in November, a rare bone cancer, and has been traveling between Birmingham and Atlanta for treatment. The church is hoping people will come to support her both financially and through worship.

The program begins Saturday at 5 p.m. at Evangel Temple. The service is free of charge. Any and all donations are welcomed.
