Better Schools Better Jobs Brings Campaign to Meridian

Meridian, Miss. The Boys and Girls Club of East Mississippi Gathered in the club's gymnasium this evening for a special cause.

The campaign Better Schools Better Jobs spoke to the many family members in attendance, about the importance of education and how important it is to continue to fund education. Jennifer Johnson of the campaign, says over the past 4 years, well over 1 billion dollars has been underfunded to public education.

"We did our research and we spoke with the voters over two years ago now and they believe that education is the way to better Mississippi for everyone," said Johnson. "On that spirit, we launched the Better Schools Better Jobs Campaign."

The campaign says they are seeking about 107,000 signatures from voters.
