Meridian, Mississippi A group of bikers making a cross country trip made a stop in Meridian on Sunday.
On Sunday night, the bikers had dinner with the Meridian First Ladies Civitan Club. The bikers are part of "Journey of Hope" and are traveling 4,000 miles from Long Beach, California to Washington, D.C., spreading awareness and fundraising for people with physical and mental disabilities. It's all made possible by the organization "Push America" and members of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity are taking part in the cross country trip.
"People with disabilities are often misrepresented and not given the full potential and everything they really deserve," according to Matt Varnell with Journey of Hope. "And so, it's Push America taking it upon themselves to really showcase people with disabilities. And show them not disabilities, but abilities, and what they actually are capable of."
Push America has two other biking groups that are taking separate routes to Washington, D.C.
