Birmingham University Temporarily Closes

Officials at the University of Alabama say the Birmingham campus will close between December 24th and January 1st to save money on utility costs.

AL.com reports university officials say the closure will also serve as time off for non-hospital staff in exchange for not getting pay raises this year.

Officials say the university's hospital will maintain regular staffing levels while the school is closed.
