Boat Ramp Closure

The boat ramp at Bonita Lakes will be closed to the general public Saturday, Sept. 22.

The People's Charity of East Mississippi will be using the area for its 1st Annual Great Meridian Rubber Duck Regatta.

The organization is raising money to buy medical equipment, medical supplies, and medications. The clinic, which will utilize professional volunteers, will serve the homeless, indigent, and those who are working without insurance or who have lost their jobs.

Activities include:
7:30 a.m. Registration for 5K & Waddle Race
Pre-registration $20
Day of the race $25
8:00 a.m. Race begins
8:30 a.m. Registration for Fun Run
Pre-registration $15
Day of the race $20
9:00 a.m. Race begins
Special prizes for "Duck Runners", those who dress up in some fashion as a duck
10:00 a.m. Opening Ceremony
10:15 a.m. Annoucing winners
10:30 a.m. Welcome by Mayor
1:00 p.m. Sponsors Race - 1st man across the lake on
the float wins.
3:00 p.m. Rubber Duck Race
Entries are $5.
