Leake County, Miss. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation says the body of a missing Philadelphia man was discovered Friday in Leake County.
The deceased man was identified as 28-year-old Cortez Aliandiae Coburn, of Philadelphia. Coburn had been missing since Jan. 29 when officials say he fled authorities.
MBN says deputies checked on Coburn after his vehicle ran out of gas on Mars Hill Road in Leake County. Authorities conducted a routine records check and found outstanding misdemeanor warrants on Coburn. When the deputies asked Coburn about the warrants, he ran into the woods.
Coburn's body was found about a quarter mile off Mars Hill Road by a National Guard helicopter crew. The body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.
MBN says the investigation is continuing
