Boil Water Notice Issued by NLWA

Lauderdale County, Miss. The North Lauderdale Water Association has issued a boil water notice due to a ruptured line and loss of system pressure. Members affected are the community of Lauderdale and those in the vicinity of Highway 45 to the north and east of the intersection of Rabbit Road and Campground Road. Members affected are currently without pressure since about 6:30 Monday evening. Pressure was expected to be restored by 10:00 pm, but the boil water notice will remain in effect for all those affected by this outage.

As a precaution, members under this boil water notice should not use tap water for drinking, making ice cubes, preparing food, or brushing teeth without first boiling it vigorously for at least one minute.

NLWA will be taking test samples and submitting them to the Mississippi Department of Health for the next several days. These tests must meet state standards for two consecutive days before the water is deemed safe to drink. NLWA will notify customers when the water has met this requirement and the boil water notice is lifted.

Members may call the NLWA office at 601-681-6157 with any questions.
