Lauderdale County, Miss. The Anderson Cup Road Race is just around the corner Apr. 6. And the T-shirt design chosen for the event was created by Brooklee Smith, a third grade student at West Lauderdale Elementary.

More than 600 student entries were submitted. The field was first shortened to 25 through and an online competition was held to choose the winner.

"My daddy had a picture of these people on the background on his phone. And I thought it would look good on a shirt," said design winner, Brooklee Smith.

"Just the drawing contest gets the kids thinking about fitness, thinking about the race," said Adam Hodges of Anderson health & Fitness. "So it's good. I was pleased with the participation from all the schools."

All of the proceeds from the Anderson Cup Race go to pediatric therapy at Anderson Hospital.
