Bryant Opposes Immigrant Children Being Placed in Mississippi

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant says the state will not accept any new children through a program that resettles children who enter the country illegally.

A spokesperson for Bryant said the governor fears President Obama will commandeer the program to place children without legal status in Mississippi.

Twenty-seven children are now enrolled in the program, and Bryant says they'll be allowed to stay through adulthood.

Some religious leaders are set to meet with Bryant Thursday to try to change his mind.
