Meridian, Mississippi A local car club was able to donate hundreds of dollars to the family of a teenager suffering from brain cancer.
As soon as the Independent Riderz Car Club heard about 13-year-old Jatavius Davis's situation, the group wanted to reach out and help his family. The club has hosted multiple benefits in his honor, including a car show and a car wash to raise funds for the Davis family.
"We've been getting a lot of support from different people in the community," Curtis Smith says. "We just got out there and did what we had to do. People saw that we were hard working at it, and they stopped and supported."
The Independent Riderz were able to raise over $700, which Davis' mother says she is very appreciative of. The group says it is glad to be able to help, and will continue to pray for the family.
