State Sen. Videt Carmichael of Meridian was able to go home from the hospital after an extended stay Tuesday.
Carmichael was released from University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
The District 33 senator had been hospitalized since Mar. 31 when he fell and hit his head on a concrete surface in Jackson right before the end of the legislative session.
Carmichael's son, Fredie, says the senator has made significant progress since April 11, making his return home possible.
