Posted: 6:56 PM Feb 15, 2012 Carson Retiring from ECCC Decatur, Miss. The longtime director of bands at East Central Community College has announced his retirement.

East Central Community College band director, Tom Carson, announced his retirement Tuesday. He has been with the college for 30 years.

Carson led the marching and concert bands, as well as the rock band, The Collegians.

Carson was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last year, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
