Celebrating Christ on Christmas Eve

Many churches in the area hosted Christmas Eve services.

Newscenter 11 visited one of three services offered at Central United Methodist Church. The 1 p.m.,
3 p.m. and 5 p.m. services were planned to accommodate the busy Christmas schedule of its members and others.

Lead pastor, the Rev. Bob Rambo, says this has become a tradition for Central.

"It's important for us to pause to remember what this season's all about. We celebrate the birth of our Lord. That's the heart of Christmas," said Rambo. "So we want to give people an opportunity to do that without taking away from their time to be together as family and with friends on Christmas Day."

Central integrated candles and carols with its observance of communion.
