Church Provides Fun and Fellowship for Community

Updated: Sat 11:39 PM, Mar 16, 2013

Members of a local church gathered for a day of fun and fellowship on Saturday.

Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Meridian provided free food and activity to members of the community. The church's pastor says it's part of its mission to act out Isaiah 55 from the Bible, all part of a way to let the community know that the church is a place to come at any time.

"To the whole community," Pastor Elbrist Mason says. "Not just this community, but all the community, especially the children. We want them to know we care about them and we love them."

Newscenter 11's John Johnson was on hand for the event and even played basketball with members of the community.
