Clarkdale Hosts Career Fair

Clarkdale High School hosted its annual career fair Tuesday.

Students in grades nine through twelve got to explore potential career fields as they prepare for college or the workforce.

Colleges also had a presence at the fair as well as vocational programs. They are looking to interest the college-bound and those who may not need or want a 4-year degree.

"Kids just need the opportunity to see what's out there, to know what they have to choose from," said high school counselor Robbie Cooper. "And so that way about the ninth grade they can start deciding which avenue they want to head and that determines the classes they'll take in high school."

Military recruiters joined community and 4-year colleges at the career fair. Other vendors included law enforcement, health care, forestry and firefighting.
