Weems Community Mental Health Center and NfusionX teamed up for a community 'lunch and learn' session Tuesday.
Community members and nursing students studied the signs and symptoms of grief, depression and suicide.
Dr. Rod Wilson says it's important for family and friends to know what the symptoms look like so they can help their loved ones.
"Most people don't come to mental health experts right off the bat," Wilson said. "Usually it's your family members or from other family members or somebody very close to them will refer them to an individual for treatment."
Weems Mental Health and NfusionX have teamed up in the past for other events. However this was the first time the two organizations focused on grief, depression and suicide.
