A 2-vehicle crash on Highway 19 North Thursday night injured a Mississippi state trooper.

It happened near 20th Street Extension and
Abundant Life Tabernacle.

Meridian police say Trooper Herman Bouldin's private vehicle was struck from the rear at a high rate of speed and pushed into a ditch.

The other vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Jamie Sullivan, then crashed into a group of trees.

There was significant damage to the vehicles, but both drivers had only minor injuries.
