Daily Rainfall Record Set at Meridian

Thursday morning thunderstorms brought lightning, wind, hail, and a lot of rain.
The rainfall total at Meridian Regional Airport was enough to break the record for the highest daily rainfall total for October 18.
The National Weather Service says the rainfall total at Meridian was 1.98 inches. The previous record of 1.88 inches was set in 1912.
