Meridian, Miss. Meridian's Frank Cochran Center was transformed into a ballroom Friday night for the "Dancing Like the Stars" event.
The event raises money for the Multi-County Community Service Agency. The non-profit agency serves the homeless, hungry, elderly and needy in a nine county area of East Mississippi, and is set to move into a new facility next month. Four members of our WTOK family competed tonight, including Chip Scarborough, Louis Montesi, Tiffany Harper and Deana Day. Dancers Dr. Virginia Nelson and A.J. Brooks say they are excited to be at the finish line.
"I think anyone can become a dancer based on what we've learned, so I think it's very encouraging. It's a great exercise, and it is a lot of fun and a way to express yourself. It has been a great experience," said Dr. Virginia Nelson who performed Friday night.
The winners for this year's event are Cat Owen and Justin Schulz.
