Debs Go Shopping for Kids in Need

Meridian, Miss. The Debs Social Service Club here in Meridian went shopping Tuesday for children in need this Christmas.

They bought bicycles for the Wesley House and bought toys for kids to be distributed by the Salvation Army. The money was raised by the Debs flamingo flocking, selling candy, and having car washes. Money was also donated to the Debs by the Downtown Optimist Club.

"I feel like the club has just been so blessed from this community, and we need to give back to our community, so by doing this, we can help the less fortunate this Christmas," said Loren Richardson, the vice president of the Debs.

The Debs are made up of 48 girls, and they conduct community service projects throughout the year.
