Deputies Catch Burglars on the Scene

Lauderdale County, Miss. Lauderdale County authorities spent Tuesday afternoon on a manhunt near Purvis Road.

Deputies responded to a burglary call on Zero Road around noon. The homeowner says it's the second time his new home has been burglarized since December.

Deputies took three suspects into custody, which led them to two more suspects on Purvis Road.

Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says that's when the two men ran.

"Two of the subjects ran. One of them was apprehended," said Calhoun. "The other one is in the woods. We (had) K-9 units and other investigators and deputies attempting to locate him. "

Calhoun says investigators believe they know the identity of the suspect who is still on the run, and he's expected to be in custody soon.
