Officials with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks identified the man who drowned Thursday at Bonita Lakes as Harold Wayne Merrell, 44.
Merrell died when he fell into the lake, near Mayor's Point, just before 6 p.m.
He was pulled out of the lake by local emergency officials and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few minutes after his arrival.
