Scooba, Miss. East Mississippi Community College in Scooba has a brand new band hall, built in the old student activities center.
School officials say the facility was needed because of growth with the band. The walls are made with sound barriers that keep the sound in the room.
Work started on the new band hall this summer and was completed just a few days ago.
"The new East Mississippi Community College band hall, if you want to call it that, is the culmination of a huge effort through myself, staff, administration, the whole school," said band director, Steve Stringer.
School officials say the band will start rehearsing and playing in the new hall in the near future.
