The monthly Earth's Bounty Festival had a special competition on Saturday for the September edition.

The first annual Earth's Bounty "Watermelon Seed Spittin'" competition was held after the farmer's market closed for the day. There was a youth, adult, and senior competition. The winner from each division received a trophy, and is eligible to compete in the international spitoff this december in Mogadishu, Somalia.

There are two Earth's Bounty festivals remaining this season. One will be held October 6th and the other on November 3rd.
