Meridian, Miss. The Meridian Exchange Club honored law enforcement officers of the year at its annual luncheon Wednesday.
The club has been doing this nationally for over 30 years. Plaques are presented to officers of the year for the Meridian Police Department, Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department and Mississippi Highway patrol Troop H.
The selections are made by each agency. The Exchange Club highlights those officers as a way of supporting law enforcement.
"The Exchange Club is a service club organization. And we do that as part of that organization," said Meridian Exchange Club president, George Hill. "And the achievements that all of these law enforcement agencies provide for us, the daily work that they do. And we're just proud to be able to honor them."
The exchange club saluted Lauderdale County Deputy of the Year Marissa Combs, Meridian Police Officer of the Year Patrick Gale and State Trooper of the Year Tracy Boyd.
