Exxon Hit for Third Time

Meridian, Miss. A Meridian business has been hit by a robber for the third time in a little over a week.

Meridian police say this time, a robber pulled a gun on the clerk at the Exxon station on Highway 19 North shortly before 1 a.m. Monday but fled empty-handed.

The same business was robbed in the middle of the night the past two Saturdays as well.

Police Capt. Dean Harper says the first armed robbery, according to the clerk, involved two black men, while the second and third time, the clerks described one male suspect.

"Actually, patrols have been stepped up," said Harper. "We are trying a couple of different techniques to see if we can apprehend the subject. "

Harper says there were different clerks on duty, and they don't necessarily believe the same suspects were involved. But if you know anything about these crimes, please call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.
