Family Discovers Crashed Vehicle

Lauderdale County, Mississippi A man was discovered in the woods around lunch time on Wednesday after a one-vehicle accident that happened sometime overnight.

The car was found in Lauderdale County on Highway 45 North, just before the Meridian exit on Highway 145. The car had a Choctaw County, Alabama tag. An adult male was airlifted to University Medical Center in Jackson. A family from Quitman saw the car in the woods as they were traveling to buy groceries in Meridian.

"It's a good thing, yes it's very camouflaged," Latricia Abston said. "All you can see is the bottom of the car, and I just so happened to be looking in the woods and seen the car."

Rescue One from Meridian and Long Creek Fire Department responded to the accident. MHP is investigating the incident.
