Family and friends of a Philadelphia man recently found dead in Leake County say they want answers about what happened to him.
Cortez Coburn, 28, was found dead in the woods Feb. 7.
He had been missing since Jan. 29.
MBN says deputies checked on Coburn after his vehicle ran out of gas on Mars Hill Road in Leake County. Authorities say they conducted a routine records check and found outstanding misdemeanor warrants on Coburn. When the deputies asked Coburn about the warrants, they say he ran into the woods.
Coburn's body was found about a quarter mile off the road by a National Guard helicopter crew. The body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy was ordered.
A Facebook page was established called Justice for Cortez calling for an investigation into how Coburn died.
