An investigation is underway by the Alabama Highway patrol into an accident that caused the deaths of three people in southwest Alabama.
It happened around 4:25 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Azalea Road and U.S. Highway 84, six miles east of Grove Hill.
The initial fatalities were 41-year-old Mary Wilkerson and 50-year-old Jay Stewart. Later, 60-year-old Gerald Hamilton died of his injuries. All were traveling in the same vehicle.
The driver of the other car is identified as 63-year-old Robert Dungan; he received minor injuries.
All of the people involved in the accident lived in Thomasville.
